COMMERCIAL (General)

I n the normal course of business, disputes are often inevitable. Parties may disagree regarding their individual rights and obligations no matter how carefully a contract is written. The resolution of such disputes, however, need not be costly and acrimonious. Alternative means of dispute resolution can save time and money, and can help resolve the dispute while preserving valuable business relationships.

The American Arbitration Association (AAA) administers disputes from commercial cases with relatively small claim amounts involving two parties to larger, more complex cases involving multiple parties and with significant dollars at risk.

EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2010: The AAA will retain a portion of the administrative filing fee if a party files a demand for arbitration that is incomplete or otherwise does not meet the filing requirements contained in the Rules, and if the deficiency cannot be corrected in a reasonable period of time. Please review the fee schedule in the current rules for additional details.
